On a chilly Sunday afternoon at Spec Martin Stadium in Deland the Phantoms were focused on capturing their 6 Florida Bowl Championship. To get this done they would have to beat a tough team from Virginia that has won back to back league championships, and that teams name is the Virginia Chargers. In the First half it was mostly a defensive battle with both teams making big defensive plays to keep the others offense out of the endzone. Late in the 2nd quarter QB Torrance Brown connected with WR Davidson Roger for a TD to put up the first score of the game as the Phantoms went into halftime up 7-0. In the second half it was all Phantoms, as the defense shut down the Chargers offense and sacked the QB 7 times. The Phantoms Offense put up 2 more TD’s with Torrance Brown connecting with Velton Brown 2 more times to end the contest at 19-0. The win gave the Phantoms a 6th National Bowl Week Championship and the winningest team in National Bowl Events history.
