Championship day and Torrance Brown couldn’t help but think about the last time he was at this point and how his team lost the Championship in 2016 to the Hollywood Browns 28-7. By halftime it looked like it would be a repeat of 2016 as the Phantoms were down 16 points 30-14. Going into the 3rd quarter the Phantom defense stood strong and gave QB Torrance Brown what he needed, which was the opportunity to pull the biggest comeback in UFFOA league history. Torrance helped the Phantoms take the lead with 1:53 left in the 4th quarter 34-33. It would come down to the Phantom defense to hold the lead as they keep the Soldiers from scoring a TD in the 2nd half of the game. It came down to a 42 yard field goal for the win for the Soldiers but the Phantoms blocked the kick and sealed the victory to complete the comeback. Torrance Brown not only made up for 2016 championship loss, but he also recevied the games MVP honors as he threw for over 300 yards and 2 total TD’s. Torrance was also announced as League MVP of the UFFOA for 2019 season. In 2 seasons with the Orlando Phantoms QB Torrance Brown is 22-1 with 2 Championship appearances. When asked what was his key to his success in 2018…,”It was mostly Coach Scarlata (Phantoms Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator) who help me understand the offense and making the right reads as a QB”, said Torrance.
The Orlando Phantoms are looking to make a move to the Florida Football Alliance in 2019, and look to continue their winning ways. Will the Phantoms make it to another Championship in 2019????
