The Orlando Phantoms of the APDFL took on the Florida Falcons of the IAFL in a preseason game Saturday night, the game turned out to be a good one. The Falcons struck first early in the 1st quarter on a 73 yard bomb to WR #15 for the TD to put the Falcons up 6-0. The Phantoms responded as they marched down the field capping off a strong drive with a 3 yard TD run from QB #1 Daniel Kroupa to put the Phantoms up 7-6 in the 1st quarter. The Phantoms struck again late in the 2nd quarter as QB #1 Daniel Kroup rolled out to his left and connected with WR #3 Clarence Williams for a 2 yard TD pass to put the Phantoms up 14-6. In the 3rd quarter the Phantoms moved the ball to the 17 yardline where QB #46 Landon Noe hit WR #2 Michael Marshall on a pass which he fumbled at the 1 yardline, but an alert #3 Clarence Williams jumped on the football in the endzone to secure a TD for the Phantoms which push the lead to 20-6. With 8 minutes left the Florida Falcons marched down the field to score on a 11 yard pass to WR #2 for the TD, and the Falcons converted on the 2 point conversion to bring the score to 20-14. The Florida Falcons had one last shot but the Phantoms defense stopped the Falcons on a 4th down try at the 46 yardline to secure the win for the Phantoms 20-14.
The Orlando Phantoms will be off until their first game in the APDFL as they travel to Macon, Georgia to take on the Georgia Noles on February 29, 2020.
